The red dot in our logo symbolizes a red push pin that many have used to mark their location on a map. I have a United States map in my home with red pins in it to symbolize and forecast the areas in the country in which CarStudio will have a location. When you look at the map it is amazing to see your intentions unfold into reality. A nationwide company built on a strong business structure in the name of serving customers and employees alike. The first red dot was exactly that. We had seen and done it all in the car wash business. Now, we are focused on making a living. The focus on the red dot now stands for something much bigger. The reason for the red dots on this map is to symbolize the people CarStudio has partnered with and are growing using the “business plan”.
Terry and I both come from the background that the customer is first. We feel differently now. We feel that if you take great care of employees and partners, the customers are an automatic. The red dot symbolizes this new focus. Allow me to elaborate.
The reason why the owner and managers (if you’re lucky) treat the business and clients correctly is because the business is their success vehicle. These people “get it” and perform accordingly. People that are happy will facilitate the success of any business. Owners see how to make customers happy because they can relate to both the business and its clients. Employees relate to their jobs and the rules/policies. They are at work to make their money. They also do not want to get into trouble by their boss. So, what you get is an unhappy customer being dictated some policy by someone trying to stay out of trouble instead of focusing on the big picture. It happens to me as a customer all the time. “That’s our policy” has now turned into “I don’t care whether or not it makes sense that is what we do”. How do you change that? Is it possible to get employees/managers thinking like the owner?
The red dots on the map are not just locations. They symbolize a location where business runs like it is supposed too. A place where people are excited to work and shop. A place where American values and workmanship thrive. I have seen business slip away from our country because we allow it too. We allow it because we are quick to blame and slow to change. We must now think differently if we are to be successful in the future. The fact is that the labor is cheaper elsewhere. Anyone can hire $7.00 an hour employees and make more money. The other way is to pay $10.00 an hour and get a much better value, if you manage them properly. I once had a boss tell me you don’t get more by paying more. If you don’t properly manage he is right, pay will not matter. However, if you change the mind of those employees to that of an owner and they feel well rewarded, they will start to act like an owner does. It really is that simple.
Our culture in these times focuses on how to do it cheaper. America doesn’t only want cheaper prices. Quality is on the rise again. People are really tired of the poor service that is received more often than not. The word 'service' can still have real meaning. We believe and have proven, you don’t have to be the cheapest to have a place in the market.
I can say to you that we are proud of the change we will affect in this great land. We are also proud to be associated with people who still believe in belief (and lots of red dots).
